Emilia Loane

Research assistant and PhD student

Emilia is the Research Assistant at the CAMHS Digital Lab, supporting the lab’s projects and research studies.

Before this role, Emilia worked on CLEAR (CLozapine in EARly Psychosis), a multi-centre study examining outcomes in young people with treatment-resistant psychosis who are changing antipsychotic medication, including those starting clozapine. She managed recruitment and study assessments across NHS sites in the South of England.

Emilia is also a part-time PhD student in Psychosis Studies at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). Her PhD focuses on early-onset psychosis, with a particular interest in the clinical and educational outcomes of young people diagnosed with a psychotic disorder before the age of 18. Her work combines a systematic review and meta-analysis, large-scale analysis of electronic health records linked with educational datasets, and secondary analysis of data from a large multicentre clinical trial in treatment-resistant psychosis. She is especially interested in treatment resistance, antipsychotic prescribing and access to clozapine.
