Dr. Stephanie Lewis

Steph is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She is currently undertaking a fellowship funded by the Prudence Trust, and previously held a fellowship funded by the MRC.

Her research focusses on understanding the mental health difficulties experienced by young people who have been exposed to traumatic events, in order to inform and improve psychiatric care for those affected. As part of this work she uses electronic health records to study the mental health and care of children and adolescents, particularly those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She also undertakes research on PTSD using British population-representative epidemiological datasets, and supports research on PTSD conducted in Zimbabwe.
