Dr. Po-Chang Tseng
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, PhD student
Dr. Po-Chang Tseng (MD MSc DTM&H) is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who completed specialised clinical training at the National Taiwan University Hospital.
Po-Chang integrates research and clinical practice to promote the well-being of disadvantaged persons. His field experience includes humanitarian efforts for displaced people along the Thailand-Burma border, as well as healthcare outreach for resource-limited communities in Burkina Faso.
His current PhD work adopts an interdisciplinary approach across mental health, bioethics, and law to examine mental capacity and decisional autonomy in children and adolescents. The investigation employs a mixed-methods design, utilising natural language processing techniques to analyse legal documents, clinical records, and interview data. At its heart, the research explores how freedom is expressed through language.
In addition, Po-Chang is interested in exploring forms of advocacy through art and creative writing to address stigma and discrimination while advancing the rights of marginalised populations.
