Dr. Johnny Downs
Founder and Lead
Johnny leads the CAMHS Digital Lab.
He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and NIHR Clinician Scientist at the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
His research focuses on the use of informatics and epidemiological approaches to examine risks factors and outcomes for childhood neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders.
Johnny's interests lie within four main areas – patient portals to enhance patient reported outcomes and deliver digital therapeutics, natural language processing to refine the data extracted from free-text electronic records, data-linkage to enrich clinical record analysis with non-health data, and the integration of remote monitoring technology to support clinical care.
