Launching an animated video in collaboration with Administrative Data Research UK

We are excited to announce the launch of a short animated video about administrative data research, led by our own Dr. Alice Wickersham in collaboration with Really Bright Media as part of a recent fellowship with Administrative Data Research UK (ADR UK).

We use administrative data a lot in our research, including information collected by public services about mental health and education. This research helps us understand young people’s experiences and wellbeing – and thus has the potential to shape those services and public policy.

It’s essential that we engage the wider public with how and why we conduct research using administrative data. Because we primarily use young people’s administrative data, we produced an animated video for adolescents and young adults working closely with the Young National Children’s Bureau Advisory Group, Lambeth Youth Advisory Group, as well as ADR UK. This video explains what administrative data is, how it can inform research and policy, and how privacy is protected when conducting administrative data research.

Watch the video on YouTube, and tell us what you think of the video on the ADR UK web page. You can also read more about it in this blog post for King’s College London.
