The DL100 award from Digital Leaders acknowledges myHealthE’s impact in improving children and young people’s CAMHS journey
A couple weeks ago, Lab members headed up to Manchester for an evening at Imperial War Museum North for the DL100 ceremony. The DL100 list is an annual shortlist recognising work across a range of sectors that contributes to the digital transformation of the UK. Our project myHealthE was shortlisted in the HealthTech Innovation of the Year category. The category showcased the tools, products, and services bringing technological innovation to the healthcare frontline – improving accessibility, diagnostic accuracy, treatment availability, and more. We were delighted that myHealthE won amongst a cohort of exciting and impactful digital health innovations, with a special mention to runner-up Holly Health.
Our Programme Manager Jess Penhallow, who accepted the award on stage, said: "We are delighted to be awarded this accolade and to be recognised amongst some of this country's best digital innovators. Thank you to Digital Leaders for hosting such an inspiring and enjoyable event, and for selecting myHealthE as the HealthTech Innovation of The Year".
One of the the CAMHS Digital Lab’s flagship innovations, myHealthE is an online platform for children, young people, and their families who have been referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Caregivers can upload outcome measures on their child’s mental health, and access further resources for support. It has increased collection of routine outcome measures by 500% since its implementation in 2021, placing South London and Maudsley as one of the top performing NHS Trusts for routine outcome measure collection for CAMHS in England. Other key features include a Virtual Waiting Room with additional resources for families whilst they are waiting to be seen by CAMHS, as well as the ability for families to opt in to be contacted by researchers for studies they may be eligible to participate in and for researchers to then reach out to these families. You can learn more about myHealthE and its impact in this video here.
To highlight that myHealthE is a ‘team effort’ would not be modest but rather an understatement. Huge thanks and congratulations are due to all our collaborators across King’s College London and South London and Maudsley, with special appreciation to the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre - in particular the Centre for Translational Informatics - the South London and Maudsley clinical systems team, the KCL e-Research team, and our developers at Digital Marmalade, who have all played important roles in the development of myHealthE.
Thank you to the Digital Leaders team for hosting us in Manchester, and for recognising the impact that myHealthE is having on the lives of children, young people, and their families.
